The good deed of Szymon, Wojtek and Marcin was captured on CCTV footage, which clearly shows the youths walking with the warm bedding through their hometown of Nysa, in southern Poland. After their act of kindness was revealed, Nysa’s Mayor personally thanked the boys for their example, and rewarded them each with a Smartwatch.
Contrary to negative stereotypes, many young people care deeply about the world around them
Earlier this week, a video showing three Polish teens captured on CCTV giving a duvet to a homeless man went viral. As the man lay shivering from the frosty air, the boys covered him with a duvet. The footage subsequently became a sensation. Stories like these go viral because they give us a warm and positive feeling, help restore our faith in humanity.
The footage of the Polish teens shows that contrary to some negative stereotypes, many young people care deeply about the world around them. The teens and the homeless man are members of the same society, and the young men clearly recognise that truth where others struggle to accept it. Hats off to these fine young men. They are a credit to their upbringing, and are already proving to be valuable members of a society who is fortunate to have them. Their parents have every right to be proud of them.
