Modern twist on an old design saves money and makes the most of a free and under-utilised resource by collecting rainwater, then the integrated foot-pump-faucet mechanism ensures you always have water on tap!
Start using rainwater for all sorts of good reasons
The latest product from eco-funky Dutch design house Studio Floris Schoonderbeek, The Raintap transforms the centuries-old concept of a rain barrel into a modern, multifunctional outdoor water station. The integrated taps, foot pump and sink turns it from a simple rain storage container into to a hand-washing station, or a great addition to a compact outdoor kitchen. The Raintap is made from 100% recycled plastic.

The power of rain
The Raintap makes absorbing and retaining rainwater part of your daily routine in an easy and fun way. Raintap measurably demonstrates how valuable rainwater is, and how we can really start to appreciate and utilise this precious resource.
Raintap collects and activates the use of rainwater. The tap(s), foot pump and sink make it a clever water station and transform it from a simple rain barrel into a (hand)washing station, to a compact outdoor kitchen.
The makers say the product raises awareness of the importance of absorbing and retaining rainwater and the need for solutions to fight climate change. The Raintap can be upgraded with an extra freshwatertap – making it an even more functional water station or addition to an outdoor kitchen.

How raintap works
RAINWATER
The Raintap collects and saves water from the cloud. The design fits on any standard rainpipe. The sink and tap make it a functional water station for optimal (re)use of valuable rainwater. The collected rainwater can be pumped up by the footpump – or can be directly tapped from the small side tap. Let’s start tapping from the cloud!
TAP WATER
The Raintap can be upgraded with an extra freshwater tap and fits to any standard outdoor water tap. Transforming it from a rain barrel to a compact outdoor kitchen. Depending on the purpose you can make a sustainable choice between soft rainwater or fresh tapwater. Adapt your water choice to your needs!
DRAINAGE
The Raintap enables reuse of (rain)water. By diverting the water from the sink to your garden instead of discharching it into the sewer. We also encourage you to redirect the overflow of your barrel to your garden. Recycled water is a valuable source of water- and important for sustainable water management. Rain, save, use and reuse!

Studio Floris Schoonderbeek
The product is the latest concept from Dutch designer Floris Schoonderbeek. As a designer, concept developer and “re-inventor”, Schoonderbeek looks at his surroundings with an open mind, looking for new needs. In the search for solutions, he rediscovers and innovates old techniques. As a result, the studio’s products are new and innovative yet recognisable at the same time.
The designs always connect with the environment and use the natural elements. For example, the Groundfridge uses the insulating capacity of the ground and the inhalation of cold air during the night. The Rotolight, where the windmill is also the light fixture, is illuminated by energy generated by the wind.
Studio Floris Schoonderbeek wants to connect and activate people and (public) places with its products and art objects. The products invite you to play (outside). Besides playful, the designs are practical and easy to integrate in daily life. The sustainable and social products enable a greener lifestyle and contribute to a better world and a richer existence.
