Footage of a dancing dad fooling around while his daughter makes a thank you video for her teachers goes viral, but there’s more to the heartwarming clip than meets the eye.

Dancing Dad joins daughter’s arts and crafts presentation for virtual school

As first grader Delaney Jones filmed a class presentation from her kitchen in Beaverton, Oregon, her Dad entered the scene and began dancing to Uptown Funk with her brothers. The love and laughter-filled clip subsequently went viral, and the family—now in the limelight—have spoken about the challenges they faced in 2020 that you’d never guess by looking at them now. Scroll down for original video and follow-up clip.

She then instructs her Amazon Alexa to play Kidz Bop's Uptown Funk as she begins the tutorial, stamping and pouring glitter glue on a sheet of paper.

2020 was a tough year for family home of love and laughter

First grader Delaney Jones likes to make crafting tutorials, but this time her family gate-crashed into the limelight. Dad Issac and brothers Hunter and Teddy appear in the background and chaos soon ensues.

The video was originally planned as a ‘thank you’ for Delaney’s teachers. However, after being uploaded to Seesaw, it quickly went viral from there because it’s such a touching scene of love and fun in the home.

What nobody could guess by watching the clip is that there’s more to the delightful little video than meets the eye. Earlier this year, both parents found themselves out of work and times were looking tough. Then, to make matters worse, first Dad Isaac and then Mom Jennifer contracted coronavirus.

At first, Dad went into isolation at an apartment owned by his parents, but then Mom and the kids called to say they’d begun showing symptoms too, so Isaac moved back home to help out.

Isaac says being crazy and goofy with your kids is something you should take advantage of now because they grow so quickly.

As she works on a presentation, Delaney's father Isaac Jones enters the room behind her and begins furiously dancing to Kidz Bop's Uptown Funk. Moments later, as the student pours pink glitter glue on her work, her father picks up her youngest sibling Teddy to join in the impromptu dance. Her older brother Hunter also begins to sing along with Uptown Funk, prompting Delaney to ask: 'What is wrong with this family?'

The young girl goes on to explain she provided the presentation to 'spread some Christmas cheer' as she doesn't know when she will next see her teachers.
“This is my brother,” she continues as he steps into shot, before bursting into laughter when her father holds her youngest sibling in front of the camera in time with the music. “As a mother and wife I'm deeply humbled by the messages and reactions I have received from so many of you. My plan was to share part of my world with some of my closest friends, and in doing so this became bigger than I ever could have imagined. Thank you for sharing your stories with me and your messages of joy! I promise you, I have read every one of them!”
The video has since been viewed more than 10million times, prompting Mrs Jones to say: “I can speak for all of us here in the Jones house by saying how over joyed and blessed we feel to have such a strong reaction to our video.” “As a mother and wife I’m deeply humbled by the messages and reactions I have received from so many of you.
