90-Year-Old in the Czech Republic Passes Her Retirement By Artistically Painting Local Buildings

In the small Czech village of Louka, in southern Moravia, one woman made it her mission to beautify the local chapel and the homes of her neighbours. Anežka Kašparková was a 90-year-old former agricultural worker who only picked up the new hobby in her retirement.

Kašparková spent most of her life working in the fields and caring for her family

Anezka Kašparková was a 90-year-old artist who fulfilled her passion for street art. Kašparková, who hailed from a small village in Moravia in the south of the Czech Republic, proved it was never too late to live out your dreams.

Kašparková spent most of her life working and cultivating plants in the fields and caring for her family.

Once she retired, some 40+ years ago, she turned her dreams of becoming an artist into a full-time reality. She began to take drawing lessons from an elderly artist in the country.

One of Kašparková’s most beautiful projects can be seen in the small village of Louka in the Czech Republic, where only about 70 people live. Scroll down for more of her story and stunning artwork.

The project of painting flowers in the village took up much of her time. Every summer she would return to the village to paint over anything that needs to be updated, and redo the entire chapel every two years when it was repainted white.
